Happy Campers

My husband is a camp councilor at our church's kids summer camp,  The theme is Western and he is  supposed to decorate his cabin.  While I can't be there to add the necessary touches to make the decorating perfect, I did send him with some great items.    I made some signs with my Cricut.
Here is the first one.
I added all of the kids names that are in his cabin after the photo was taken.  I thought it came out really cute!  I was planning on using brown poster board so I cut the shadow for the Howdy Pardner in black, unfortunately I couldn't find brown poster board so I had to make do with black.  I inked the black shadow with silver to help it stand out from the black background.

Here is the other sign I made.
I wasn't sure if the gun was too much for church camp but it went with the theme.  Hopefully no one is offended.
I used the Old West cartridge for everything.  I also cut out the Cowboy up sign and Happy Trials sign from the cartridge, but I didn't get a picture of those before they ran out the door for camp.  I don't know if the 5th and 6th grade boys in my hubby's cabin will be impressed, but you can't please everyone.

I love my new Cricut!

I have a friend who has Lyme Disease and was in need of money to see a specialist.  When I heard this I did what I could to collect some money for her.  I wanted to have a nice card to give it to her in so I made this card for her.
I couldn't wait to use my new Cricut to make the card.  I love the images on the Child's First Year Cartridge. I thought this little girl with her wheel barrel of flowers was a great start.  The sentiment (it's hard to read under the ribbon) says Bushels of Blessings.  My DH didn't get it, but I thought it worked.  Since the card will contain exactly that I thought it was just right.  Inside I put a bird I cut from the same cartridge and made a flower out of Plantin Schoolbook.  The message inside says "To help you spread your wings and fly"
Overall I was very happy with this card especially since it was my first one using my Cricut.

While I was at it I did some door art with my Cricut and adhesive vinyl.   My son's room is done in Mickey Mouse so I had to get the Mickey Font and Mickey and Friends cartridges.  I haven't used the Mickey and Friends yet, but I cut this out of the Mickey Font.
This was so quick and easy I thought I would do one more.
This one was done with a Childs First Year.  Now I am waiting on more vinyl so I can do even more decorating.  I LOVE MY NEW CRICUT!!
